Get Started
Learn about the different steps involved in submitting an entry to the contest. If you have any questions, contact SOARPH@ruhealth.org
Step 1: Select an Adult Advisor
All youth participants must have an adult advisor. An advisor can be anyone from your school, program, club, or organization—such as a teacher, professor, parent, coach, or other adult supporter.
Visit the Advisor Resources page to learn more about the advisor role and responsibilities.
Step 2: Sign Release Forms
All youth participants must sign a release form. If you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian must sign as well. By signing the release form, you share ownership of your submitted entry with us. You may continue using your video however you’d like, and you also give us permission to share it on our website or social media.
Complete the fillable release form and upload it, or print the form, sign it, and upload a scanned copy or photo.
Step 3: Select Your Submission Category
Each category has specific content guidelines. You may submit as many entries as you’d like. As you work on your video, make sure every cast and crew member signs a release form. You will not be able to submit your entry form until all required release forms are completed.
Visit the Submission Categories page to learn more about the content guidelines for each category.
Step 4: Submit Release Forms and Entry Form
Your final video must be submitted by Midnight PST on June 30.
Choose one team member to submit the entry form. You will need:
- Your advisor’s name
- A list of everyone who worked on the video (cast and crew)
- The release form for the student submitting the entry form
- Your video submission — either a YouTube Unlisted link or one video file (256 MB max) in one of the approved formats: avi, mov, mp4, ogg, wav, webm
Step 5: Wait - Judging in progress
After submissions close, entries will be reviewed by the judging panel.
All county winners will be recognized at the Riverside County Public Health All‑Staff Training.
