Riverside County Oral Health Program
In January 2018, Riverside County received funding from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) to establish a Local Oral Health Program. This new funding was made possible by the enactment of Proposition 56, the California Healthcare, Research and Prevention Tobacco Tax of 2016 that levied an additional $2 tax on tobacco and tobacco related products.
With guidance from the Office of Oral Health, the Riverside County Oral Health Program (RC-OHP) is tasked with conducting activities at the local level that support the California Oral Health Plan which aims to improve the oral health of all Californians. The California Oral Health Plan, identified strategies that address the complexity of oral health equity.
A Riverside County Oral Health Advisory Committee was established in 2018 and convenes every six months to inform, advise, support and advocate for the mission and vision of our Local Oral Health Program. This Advisory Committee was instrumental in the creation of Riverside County’s Oral Health Strategic Plan 2019-2023.
If you would like more information regarding the Oral Health Advisory Committee, you may reach us by email at RC-OHP@ruhealth.org or by phone at (951) 358-7171.
