We look for applicants with a commitment to primary care sports medicine as well as commitment to their respective primary specialty. We value applicants with experience in the care of vulnerable populations. We seek applicants who have experience in game coverage, pre-participation exams, and attendance at sports conferences. We value applicants who also have experience in the education of residents and medical students. We value applicants who have specific niche interests within sports medicine, this can include combat sports, dance medicine, rock climbing or any off the beaten path interest.

The main difference in our program is the care of the underserved community athletes. We offer coverage at Cal Baptist and UCR athletics as well as Riverside Community College and the local Riverside Unified district.  We provide ample training with musculoskeletal ultrasound in the clinic and hands on workshops. We also cover combat sports, amateur boxing with the USA boxing and amateur MMA with CAMO MMA.

We follow the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM) recommend MSK US curriculum. We have an average of 1 monthly lecture by our faulty which is followed by protected scanning time. Our curriculum is based on ESSR guidelines as well as the approach by Jacobson in his book "Fundamentals of Musculoskeletal Ultrasound".
