About Us

  • Riverside University Health System (RUHS) includes a 439-bed Medical Center in Moreno Valley, 13 clinics that are Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) providing primary and specialty care services, as well as the Behavioral and Public Health departments.

  • The Medical Center has adult, pediatric, and neonatal intensive care units, an adult surgical intensive care unit, an obstetrics unit, and complete pulmonary services with hyperbaric oxygen treatment capabilities. RUHS has been the foundation of healthcare, community wellness, and medical education in Riverside County for more than 100 years and employs approximately 8,500 team members.

  • The RUHS Emergency Department (ED) plays a significant role in providing emergency medical care in Riverside County. RUHS receives approximately 100,000 patient visits annually and serves as the first responder in the case of natural disaster for Riverside County. As a designated Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma center, RUHS treats nearly half of all trauma patients in the county.

Patient Population

RUHS is a safety-net hospital and home to a diverse and medically underserved patient population, including patients from the California state penitentiary system and Riverside County jails. Patient demographics include Hispanic or Latino, White, Black or African-American, American Indian and Alaska Native, Asian, Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander. The payor mix for our population is on average 84% Medi-Cal, 7% Medicare, 1.5% indigent, 5% self-pay, 2 % private payor.

Prospective Residents

RUHS PGY2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency Program has acquired ASHP Accreditation Pre-Candidate Status. Accreditation is anticipated after the graduation of our inaugural class (2025 – 2026).
