Available without a physician's prescription, Naloxone (brand name: Narcan) is a safe and effective medication that can quickly reverse an opioid overdose. Due to its lifesaving abilities, access to Naloxone is crucial. It is STRONGLY recommended that all family, friends, people who use drugs, and first responders are trained to recornize and respond to an overdose with naloxone.
As part of the Wraparound team, the PHN provides services for the youth in collaboration with Probation, Behavioral/Mental Health departments. SIDS is the sudden unexplained death of an infant under one year of age. We still do not know what causes SIDS. To diagnose a death as SIDS, three things must happen. The infant must undergo a complete autopsy, a thorough death scene investigation will be done, and a review of the clinical history of the infant will be completed.
