Riverside County Office of Vital Records

On December 11, 2024 the office will be closing at 2:00 pm. Regular business hours will resume the next day.

Pursuant to California Health & Safety Code Sections 102275-103395, the Riverside County Office of Vital Records registers all births, deaths and fetal deaths that occur within the county of Riverside. 

In addition, this office is responsible for:

  • Issuing certified and informational copies of birth and deaths that occurred in Riverside County for this year and last year
  • Issuing burial permits
  • Registering Out-of-Hospital births

Our mission is to provide a professional atmosphere while giving our clients friendly, accurate, and timely service in a respectful and sincere manner.

The Riverside County Local Registration District (LRD) offers emergency filing to accommodate religious and cultural beliefs that require interment within 48 hours of death. To be eligible the disposition must be scheduled within 48 hours of death.
