Fall Prevention Program

Welcome to Riverside University Health System's Fall Prevention Program

dedicated to reducing the risk of falls and preserving your quality of life. Falls are a significant concern for older adults, often leading to serious consequences such as hip fractures, head trauma, and a loss of independence.

Statistics show that annually, 1 in 3 older adults experience a fall, with 1 in 5 resulting in a broken bone or head injury (CDC).

Our program provides essential steps to help decrease fall risks:

Talk to Your Doctor

Discuss any issues with balance or medications that may cause drowsiness or dizziness. Schedule regular health, vision, and foot exams.

Exercise Regularly

Improve balance, strength, and flexibility with exercises recommended by your doctor.

Modify Your Home

Use non-slip rugs, install grab bars, ensure good lighting, and remove tripping hazards.
