Letter from the Program Director
Welcome to the Loma Linda University Pediatric Primary Care Track at Riverside University Health System.
Our program was founded by Drs. Aleca Clark and Kathleen Lima with a vision of training pediatricians who are deeply connected to the communities they serve. Our inaugural class graduated in 2017, and since that time, more than 85% of our graduates have gone on to careers in outpatient pediatrics—a reflection of the mission that continues to guide us today.
The Primary Care Track is built around four pillars: community engagement, multidisciplinary care, the best of both worlds, and wellness at work. Our residents benefit from training across both Riverside University Health System and Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital, combining the resources and breadth of a tertiary children’s hospital with the relationships, continuity, and community-centered experience of a public health system.
But PCT is more than where we train. It is the people we train alongside.
We are intentionally a small, close-knit community where residents, faculty, staff, and families know one another, celebrate together, support one another through the difficult days, and find plenty of reasons to laugh along the way. We believe excellent physicians are developed not only through rigorous clinical training, but through mentorship, belonging, service, curiosity, and the freedom to become the kind of pediatrician—and person—you hope to be.
Our residents bring different backgrounds, interests, talents, and perspectives to our program, and that individuality is something we celebrate. As we like to say in PCT:
