Clinical Pharmacy Residency
As an institution, Riverside University Health System is committed to the education and training of healthcare professionals of various disciplines. RUHS Department of Pharmacy is excited to join this effort in post-graduate training.
In addition to our long tradition of providing rotations for pharmacy students, we are now in the national matching process to select four PGY1 pharmacy residents each year. Residents will join our exceptional team of pharmacists and work hand-in-hand with preceptors to provide optimized medication management for our diverse patient population and have the opportunity to discuss patient cases in both formal and informal settings, e.g. multidisciplinary team bedside rounds and in presentations.
Our program aims to provide residents with quality educational conferences and teaching opportunities, offer exposure to a wide variety of patients and foster a collegial environment that is conducive to developing skills in life-long learning. Upon completion of the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program, residents will be eligible for board certification and for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training in a focused area of practice. Most importantly, residents will be prepared to function as general clinical pharmacy practitioners in a multidisciplinary institutional setting to optimize pharmaceutical care.
We welcome you to join us!
