Neurology Residency
Welcome to Riverside University Health System’s Neurology Residency Program. We are a newly-accredited program which provides comprehensive clinical education in neurology with a particular emphasis on caring for patients in an ambulatory setting. RUHS is a primary stroke center operating within an active clinical setting with more than 400 acute care beds as well as on-site primary and specialty ambulatory services. Neurology residents will have a wide breath of clinical exposure through their rotations in both county and university hospital settings. The program offers a unique opportunity to work in a diverse, underserved community.
Residents experience a close-knit, supportive and collegial environment in the department of neurology. Faculty consists of neurologists who are dedicated to providing excellent specialty care to a diverse community. The program faculty are also committed to education and have various subspecialty training and backgrounds. The program provides exposure to all major neurological subspecialties and protected weekly didactics sessions. Nearby rotations at Loma Linda University Medical Center round out the clinical experience. RUHS also supports residents in scholarly activities with resources available including the Comparative Effectiveness and Clinical Outcomes Research Center (CECORC).
Neurology residents join a robust Graduate Medical Education program at RUHS. Our four-year program includes the PGY1 year at RUHS. Current RUHS residencies include neurosurgery, internal medicine, radiology, psychiatry, and family medicine. Neurology residents encounter a multidisciplinary learning environment which fosters collaboration and integrative patient care.
RUHS is situated in sunny Southern California where downtown Los Angeles, Orange County, beaches, and mountains are easily accessible without the higher cost of living. Whether you are interested in hiking, skiing, nature walks, surfing, art galleries or are a foodie, the region provides plenty of opportunities for activities that promote rest and relaxation during the busy years of residency.
Thank you for your interest in our neurology program. We encourage you to contact us with any questions.
