Cultural Competency Program

The Cultural Competency Program provides overall direction, focus, and organization in the implementation of the system-wide Cultural Competency Plan that addresses the enhancement of workforce development and the ability to incorporate languages, cultures, beliefs, and practices of its consumers into the services. 

AAFWAG focuses primarily on educating and engaging the community in reducing the stigma associated with mental health. We meet on the third Wednesday of each month from 10 am to 11:30 am, to discuss methods on how to reduce stigma surrounding mental health, provide education, advocacy and support to the African American community.

APIDANH was organized to bring the Asian Pacific Islander Desi American & Native Hawaiian (APIDANH) population together with providers and resources for networking, education, advocacy, and community building. We meet on the second Tuesday bi-monthly from 3:30pm - 5:00pm, to discuss methods on how to reduce stigma surrounding mental health, provide education, advocacy and support to the APIDANH community.

CAGSI strives to eliminate disparities in the mental health system by ensuring the implementation of culturally competent services and advocating for prevention and early intervention strategies for the LGBTQ+ community.
